The Warriors of Zimbabwe head coach, Baltermar Brito has described the 28 players he invited for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as exceptional.
Brito has released a 28-man provisional squad for this month’s qualifiers against Rwanda and Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
Zimbabwe will face Rwanda on November 15 on matchday one before hosting the Super Eagles on November 19.
“I’m happy with the team and I’m happy with my decision to assemble this talented group of players that will represent Zimbabwe in the world cup qualifiers,” Brito is was quoted on Zimbabwe Football Association X handle.
“I did analysis on each one of them, they are exceptional players and are valuable assets to the team.”
Zimbabwe’s only victory against the Super Eagles was a friendly match in the first-ever meeting between both teams in 1981 wining 2-0 at home.
In the last six clashes the Super Eagles have won four and drawn two.
