District Head of Erubu community in Kwara State, Dr Zubair Erubu has been released by his abductors.
LIB reported earlier that the retired permanent secretary was abducted last Thursday December 9, while returning to his house after attending to patients at a private hospital he operates.
His release was confirmed by the state police spokesperson, Ajayi Okesanmi, in a statement released on Thursday December 16. Erubu was released days after his abductors demanded a ransom of N60m from his family.
The police spokesman said the doctors release was facilitated by the community, security stakeholders, vigilantes and hunters.
The statement read;
“The release was made possible with the cooperation of the victim’s family members, the community and other security stakeholders, vigilantes and hunters.
“A detailed report will be made public as soon as it is available, please.”
