The abducted wife of Usman Baffa Ibeto, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Magama Local Government in Niger State, has regained freedom.
Four suspected bandits had on Sunday, June 11, abducted Hajiya Habiba,30, from their residence in the Tunga area of Minna.
The housewife was rescued by operatives of the Borno State Police Command police at a motor park in Maiduguri.
According to her, she was hypnotised by the kidnappers only to wake up and found herself at the park.
Handing over the rescued victim to her husband in Maiduguri, on Thursday, June 16, the Borno State Police Commissioner, Abdu Umar disclosed that she was brought to the Metro Division by officials of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) before reaching the Police Command Headquarters for further action.
On whether a ransom was paid, she said that an undisclosed amount was paid to the kidnappers in Maiduguri.
Her husband also confirmed that a large amount of ransom was paid to the abductors.
The couple thanked the police, NURTW and NARTO for their efforts.
