[News] “Abomination happened to us but we will keep celebrating life” – Chimamanda Adichie’s brother speaks on their mother’s death 8 months after losing father



Kene Adichie, Chimamanda Adichie’s brother, has spoken up for the first time since their mother died.

 

LIB reported that renowned Nigerian novelist lost her mother, Grace Adichie, on Monday, March 1, 2021 in Awka, Anambra State.

The development comes comes eight months after they lost their father, Prof. James Adichie. The Emeritus Professor of Statistics and Mathematics at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) died in June 2020 after a brief illness. He was aged 88.

 

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, March 7, to celebrate his elder sister, Dr. Uche, on her brithday, Kene said ‘Alu melu anyi’ which translates to abomination happened to their family.

 

“Happy Birthday to my darling, beautiful, kind and loving sister. Alu melu anyi but we will keep pushing on and celebrate life.” he wrote.
