The family a security officer identified as Goddey Ibama, has declared him missing after he left their Egbeda home in Lagos state on Wednesday, May 24, and has since not returned.
In an interview with LIB, his wife, Maryam Ibama, said her husband who is from Rivers state and suffers from stroke, was laid off work in January 2023. She said on May 24, her husband left home to visit his former office to inquire about the token they promised to give to him after he was laid off. She said he left 7am on that day and has not returned home since then. Mrs Ibama said efforts to find him has proved abortive as her husband left home without a phone because the one he had before was bad.
She mentioned that she has reported the matter to the police in Ikeja.
She also told LIB about how she has been going to different churches to seek spiritual solutions towards finding her husband. She recounted how one Pastor asked her to bring Thirty Thousand Naira and then attend his night vigil where God will show him the exact place her missing husband is. Mrs Ibama said she paid the money and attended the vigil with her daughter, only for the pastor to tell them that her husband was in a woman’s house. She said her daughter immediately challenged the pastor to refund the money otherwise she would call him out on social media. She said that the pastor had no choice but to refund the money to them.
Mrs Ibama asked that anyone with useful information should please contact the nearest police station or call the following numbers 08060237891 or 08081932888.
