[News] Fishermen catch marine animal, Manatee in Bayelsa community

Fishermen caught a marine animal, Manatee, in Apparanbie community, Akassa Island, in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The fully aquatic mammal was caught on Wednesday 6, September 2023 at 6:19 pm.
Manatees are sometimes known as sea cows.
All three species of Manatees are classified as Vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)
They are threatened by habitat loss, collision with boats, and pollution.
