[News] Five kidnap victims rescued as police arrest suspected gun runners in Kaduna

The Kaduna state police command have rescued 5 kidnap victims following the arrest of suspected gun runners in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state.

This came after police officers acted on an intelligence report of bandits numbering about ten attempting to kidnap travellers at Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road.

Police spokesperson in the state, Mohammed Jalinge said the patrol team attached to Buruku Division engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel and successfully repelled the bandits who scampered into the forest with various degrees of bullet wounds and rescued all the occupants of the Volkswagen Golf vehicle.

Jalinge said they have intensified effort arrest the remaining fleeing bandits.
