[News] Gunmen abduct village head and his wife in Ibadan

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted the Baale of Araromi community in Ibadan, Oyo State, Chief Tafa Apanpa and his wife.

 

The traditional chief and his wife were abducted around 9:pm on Tuesday, June 22, at Araromi village in Bakatari, the outskirt of Ibadan.

 

According to report, the gunmen stormed the village during a heavy down pour and went straight to the home of the couple and whisked them away to unknown destination.

 

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, who confirmed the incident on Wednesday June 23, said efforts are in top gear to rescue both victims and as well apprehend the abductors.

 

“The incident happened very late on Tuesday 22nd of June, at Araromi Village.” he stated.
