Clergywoman, Pastor Laurie Idahosa, has taken to her Instagram page to mourn her friend and colleague in the vineyard of God, Pastor Nomthi Odukoya, who died on Tuesday, November 9, after battling cancer for two years.
In a post shared on her page, Mrs Idahosa mentioned that some people would say Nomthi’s death means she won in Christ. She wondered why winning in Christ needs to be painful and added that someday God will answer this for her.
She wrote;
”I loved her. My friend, my sister, my “fellow immigrant,” as we used to call each other. We have too many happy memories together to recount. She’s someone I could call on anytime and she would be there for me. I tried my best to be that same kind of friend to her.
When she told me about her cancer, almost 2 years ago during the early days of Covid, I held back the tears. I swallowed them as best I could, while showing her a strong front and being her prayer partner. She was strong, she was resolute, she fought… and some will say she won, because she’s now with Jesus.
If this is winning, why does it come with so much pain? One day, God will answer this question for me.
Our prayers are steadfast with Pastor Taiwo @pastortaiwo and the entire family. May God comfort all who knew and loved her. To know her was to love her.”
