Chef Hilda Baci has been officially awarded the Guinness World Record for longest cooking marathon by an individual.
Baci who cooked for 93 hours, 11 minutes, broke the previous record of 87 hours 45 minutes set by Chef Lata Tondon (India) in 2019.
The management of Guinness World Record admitted that Baci’s attempt to get into their record was so popular that their website crashed for two days due to the immense volume of traffic they received from her legion of loyal fans.
Hilda Baci was required to abide by several rules during her record-breaking cook-a-thon:
1. There must be at least two items being prepared or cooked at any time
2. A sous-chef is permitted to assist in prep work, washing up, and cleaning the kitchen area, but all the cooking must be done by the individual attempting the record
One of the most important rules for GWR food-related record attempts is that all items must be consumed after cooking. Hilda Baci also fulfilled this.
