RANKINGS
The University of Queensland (UQ) is one of Australia’s leading teaching and research universities. With a strong focus on teaching excellence, UQ has won more national teaching awards than any other Australian university.
UQ ranks in the world’s top universities, as measured by several key independent rankings, including CWTS Leiden Ranking (31*), Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities (NTU Ranking) (39), QS World University Rankings (46), the U.S. News Best Global Universities Rankings (36), Academic Ranking of World Universities (54), and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (62).
EMPLOYABILITY
As a UQ student our research, work-integrated learning and connections prepare you to forge an exciting career. Outside the classroom you can participate in our career resources and networking events, and participate in the Employability Award to build the skills that future employers value. There are also exchange opportunities to our 180 partner institutions in 38 international locations, and access to more than 220 clubs and societies.
OUR CAMPUSES
UQ has three campuses in South East Queensland. Brisbane is the home of UQ’s St Lucia and Herston campuses, and the capital city of Queensland. Brisbane has a population of approximately 2.4 million and offers a relaxed and safe lifestyle, subtropical climate and vibrant culture. Brisbane is fast becoming a hub in the Asia–Pacific for business, investment, major events and education, with World Heritage rainforests, mountain ranges and beaches on our doorstep.
POST STUDY WORK RIGHTS
If you study for two years in Australia, you may be eligible for post-study work rights. Post-study work rights allow international graduates to live and work in Australia temporarily – usually between two and four years, depending on the qualification. This could be a good opportunity for you to gain some valuable experience at an Australian business before returning to Nigeria.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The University of Queensland offers a range of merit-based scholarships to support international students throughout their studies. Our scholarships recognize international students with high academic performance and the potential to make a positive contribution to the University and its community. Please note, scholarships are competitive.
