A Nigerian man, Chinedu Victor Ogba, has marked what would have been the birthday of his two siblings, Chigozirim and Eberechi, who died after eating Suya at their home in 2021.
Taking to Facebook on Friday, October 13, 2023, he shared photos of his late siblings.
“Remembering and celebrating the lives of my beloved siblings on their birthday. Though you two are no longer with us, but your presence is felt in our hearts every day. Happy birthday in heaven, dear Chigozirim. Happy birthday in heaven, dear Eberechi. We miss you two and cherish the memories we shared,” he wrote.
The siblings died along with their father, Sunday Ogba and four extended family members, aged 3, 9, 10 and 12, in Umueze Umuakanu community, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State in 2021.
Sunday Ogba had bought the Suya which all the family members ate, including the four children of Mr. Ikwunze, who came for holidays.
The deceased persons who hailed from Item in Bende LGA of the state, started vomiting after eating the roasted meat delicacy
Sunday’s wife, Mrs. Jessy Ogba and one daughter who were in critical condition later survived after receiving treatment at Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia.
