[News] Passer-by killed, another injured as gunmen in military uniform attack Benue revenue inspection point

An innocent passer-by has been killed and another injured when unknown gunmen attacked a Benue State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS) tax point in Zaki-Biam, Ukum Local Government Area of the state.

The passer-by identified as Dajoh Shima was shot dead while the other person injured in the attack which occured on Sunday evening, May 16.

According to eye witness, the gunmen numbering about six wearing Nigerian Army uniforms attacked the inspection point on a convoy of motorcycles shooting sporadically which resulted in the death of Shima, who was within the vicinity while another person sustained injuries.

This is coming on the heels of unsuccessful attack on the Executive Chairman of BIRS, Dr. Andrew Ayabam, by illegal tax operators.
