A man wanted for fatally stabbing his father 46 times and leaving the corpse in a plastic bag on a Brooklyn street has been arrested in Louisiana.
The suspect, Joseph Adams, 26, was arrested in Gretna and brought back to the Big Apple in connection to the gruesome Oct. 16 murder of 49-year-old Christopher Adams in Cypress Hills, police said in a statement.
The victim’s body was found alongside a pile of garbage awaiting pickup at about 12:35 p.m. near Van Sinderen and Herkimer streets on Oct. 26., police said.
By then, the 49-year-old victim’s corpse was so badly decomposed police could not immediately determine his sex or cause of death.
Joseph Adams was caught after an eagle-eyed Louisiana officer pulled over the suspect’s car in Gretna and determined he was wanted by the NYPD, cops said.
NYPD detectives traveled to Louisiana and extradited the suspect to Brooklyn, an NYPD spokeswoman said. Adams was arraigned over the weekend.
Joseph Adams is charged with murder, concealment of a human corpse, tampering with physical evidence and criminal possession of a weapon, cops said.
It is still not known why he stabbed his own father 46 times. Sources say he lawyered up immediately and has not spoken since.
