[News] PROMMAN set to reposition the modeling industry



The Professional Model Managers Association of Nigeria (PROMMAN), which is the duly registered and recognised body for Model Managers in Nigeria, is set for the repositioning of the modeling industry in the country.

 

In its drive for the much needed change in the industry the Association is organising a first-of-its-kind webinar which shall be drawing together industry leaders,  stakeholders and everyone with an interest in modeling with the sole objective of considering the way forward and consequently flipping the narrative.

 

The carefully selected speakers and resource persons consist of industry leaders and seasoned practitioners such as Dr Olalekan Fadolapo (Registrar/CEO APCON), Steve Babaeko (President AAAN, CEO/CON X3MIDEAS), Frank Osodi (President PROMMAN, CEO BUNOR Models/Artist Mgt), Bunmi Adeniba (Acting President ADVAN, Marketing Director UNILEVER), Bisi Sowemimo (International model, Model Coach, CEO Show Model Academy) and Jimi Owobo Ogunlaja (International Model, CEO Jimisterio Catwalk Academy) who have all made a mark in the industry and are equipped with years of experience in their respective sectors.

 

The webinar which will be hosted by top model, actor and TV personality Uti Nwachukwu is scheduled to hold on Zoom by 4pm on Sunday the 28th of February, 2021. According to the President of PROMMAN Mr Frank Osodi, “this webinar serves as an avenue to bring together the regulatory body and all credible stakeholders in the advertising, fashion and modeling business to discuss critical issues affecting the industry, identify and explore possible solutions and work together to effect the much needed change.” He stated that this initiative is one of many moves that is geared towards repositioning the industry.

 

He further stated that we can no longer sit on the fence and feign nonchalance. What affects one sector affects all. He enjoined all models, model managers, designers, photographers, advertisers, advertising agencies and every other key player desirous to see positive changes in  the industry to register and join the free to attend webinar and to participate actively. He concluded by saying “the world is changing and we need to rise to the challenge as we explore more innovative ways of doing business, better ways of working together as partners and upholding professionalism so that the industry will not only be accorded the respect it deserves but that the modeling industry will take its place of relevance among its  contemporaries”.
