Sergio Aguero showed his generosity to Manchester City’s staff before leaving for Barcelona.
The Argentine international thanked the staff in a very special way after they helped him during his decade at the club, where he won 15 trophies including five Premier League titles.
According to The Athletic, the striker gave every member of City’s staff a raffle ticket for his £40,000 Range Rover and bought each of them either a Hublot or Tag Heuer watch which had the words ‘Gracias! Kun Aguero’ engraved.
A member of the City’s kit team won the luxury car while each watch is thought to have cost at least £1,000 with the Tag Heuer Formula 1 model priced between £1,200 and £1,650.
The report states that the 32-year-old contributed a significant amount to a pot of money which the squad hand over to support staff twice a year.
City’s record goalscorer will join Barca when his contract expires at the end of this month but he was officially unveiled at the Nou Camp on Monday.
Speaking before his presentation to the media, Aguero said he was joining the biggest club in the world.
‘We all know that Barca are the best club in the world so I think I made a great decision to be here and I hope to help the team,’ Aguero said.
‘Of course it’s a step forward in my career, I’m really happy and hopefully I can help the team to win things.
‘First of all I want to play and help this squad and if the team does it well I will be happy individual. I just try to help the team and try to arrive at the end of the season with chances to win titles.’
