organisation for the kind gesture, while urging other organisations to emulate all that Shamies foundation was doing to make life a better place for the disadvantaged.
Established in 2019 with a mission to rehabilitate, empower and reintegrate ex-convicts into the society: through a wide range of advocacy, representation, trainings, and support programmes, the foundation has since its inception carried out various medical and humanitarian outreaches and sponsored the release of over 100 inmates with minor crime charges in major correctional facilities across Nigeria.
The organisation has also provided training and interventions for well over two hundred families, inmates, and ex-convicts through its transition program FROM CORRECTION CENTERS TO COMMUNITY (FCTC).
At the peak of the Covid pandemic, the foundation distributed hand sanitizers, soap, and buckets to keep facilities clean and secure for both inmates and Correctional Officers.
