[News] Woman starts up a fire on her fence after landgrabbers attempted to break into her family building in Lagos



A woman got so angry that she started a fire after some alleged land grabbers attempted to break into her family house located at Sere close Off Adeola Adeleye street in Ilupeju, Lagos state last Wednesday, May 24.

A  family source told LIB that the ‘’Langrabbers” allegedly from a nearby mosque located on Adeola Adeleye Street, claimed that part of the building had been “given” to them.

The source said the ‘land grabbers’ came in their numbers to possess the property, but the family members who live in the building, refused to grant them access into the compound, and instead told them to take the matter to court.

However, the said ‘land grabbers’ refused to leave the premises, and decided to invade the property by demolishing the fence.

A lady who was in the building at the time the ‘landgrabbers’ came, had asked them to stop their illegal action. When they refused, she brought out petrol and lit up the fence.

The source who spoke to LIB said the matter was  reported to the police and the fire put out.The source added that no arrest was made and that the land grabbers have not returned to the building since the day of the incident.

“No arrest was made and they haven’t been back as of yet but they’re threatening to return to complete their mission.” the source said
