[News] Yola market gutted by fire

The main market in Yola town, Adamawa state, was gutted by fire in the early hours of today, August 1.

 

Many shops were affected and goods worth millions of Naira were destroyed in the fire incident. A quick response of firefighters saved the market from total destruction.

 

The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who confirmed the incident said they’ve launched an investigation to establish what caused the fire.

 

Nguroje said;

 

“With the support of fire fighters, the situation was brought under control. Investigation has since begun to ascertain the cause of the fire for possible action.”
