According to Oloyede, the two officials were almost murdered during the incident – The registrar said the incident is being probed, even though he did not disclose those who carried out the assault or why they did Two Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) officials were reportedly assaulted during the 2019 mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) which held on Monday, April 1. The development was made public by the JAMB registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, shortly before inspecting the mock exams at the Global Distance Learning Institute (GDLI), in Abuja, Daily Trust reports.
Naija9icevibes .gathers that the registrar disclosed that the officials were assaulted at an exam center in a higher institution in Lagos. He said over 157,000 candidates sat for the mock UTME in 698 centres across the country. According to Oloyede, the two officials who were delegated to maintain proper conduct of the mock exam at the Lagos centre, were assaulted and ‘almost murdered.’ The registrar did not state the reason for the assault; neither did he disclose the identity of those who carried it out. He, however, said the incident is being probed.
He said candidates paid N700 each at private Computer Based Test (CBT) centres, even though the mock exams were conducted free of charge at all JAMB centres .
