[News] A woman who’s chosen to leave a marriage citing irreconcilable differences may find it challenging to be welcomed back – Nigerian man says he shares his divorce story

A Nigerian man has said that any woman who chose to leave a marriage citing irreconcilable differences may find it challenging to be welcomed back.

The man said this on his X handle while sharing his divorce story. He alleged that his ex-wife moved out of their marriage and feigned that he was abusive to her while they were married. He said during their divorce process, the magistrate acknowledged her as the aggressor in terms of violence, a fact corroborated by the video evidence she submitted, and that the judge also recognized that, as the defendant, he fell into a trap.

He said the idea of “guilty until proven innocent” often applies to men and that over time, men have been in situations where they need to demonstrate their innocence beyond a doubt, which contrasts starkly with the presumption of innocence granted to women until proven guilty.
