[News] Danish aid worker shares new photos of two young boys rescued 5 years ago after being branded witches in Akwa Ibom

Danish aid worker, Anja Ringgren Lovén has shared new photos of two young boys that she and her husband, David Umem, rescued 5 years ago after they were accused of being witches, beaten and abandoned in Akwa Ibom.
Loven, in a Facebook post on Thursday, December 7, 2023, said the minors, Godspower and Gideon, were sleeping inside bushes at the time of their rescue.
“David Emmanuel Umem and I were not prepared the day we rescued Godspower and Gideon. We were in a local village for a meeting and suddenly two boys were brought to us, accused of being witches,” she wrote.
“Godspower and Gideon were very dirty and scared. They slept inside bushes and had been beaten. It was December 2018 and David and I took the boys to Land of Hope or else they would not be alive for very long. It’s been 5 years of incredible development. Godspower and Gideon are both the most modest, sweetest and intelligent young boys today. Godspower is the best student in his class.
“For 5 years in a row he has taken first position as the nr.1 student with highest scores. Supporting Land of Hope really save lives. V A loving heart is the truest wisdom.”
