[News] Global Leaders hail Dangote Petroleum Refinery



African Presidents, eminent personalities, members of the National Assembly, prominent traditional rulers, state governors, and captains of industry joined Aliko Dangote, President/CE of the pan-African Conglomerate, Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) earlier this week at Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos to commission the Dangote petroleum refinery and petrochemicals plant.

At the historic event, Aliko Dangote in his speech disclosed that the newly commissioned 650,000pbd refinery would employ over 100,000 Nigerian youths. According to him, the company (refinery) now has over 33,000 employees. He said the refinery will generate over $21 billion, thereby saving the country huge forex that would have been used for fuel importation.

According to him, the petroleum refinery would be run at the highest effective and efficient level for maximum benefit to all Nigerians.

Dangote also assured Nigerians that 40 per cent of the production capacity would be available for export with the coming onstream of the plant, thus guaranteeing raw materials for plastic, and pharmaceutical industries.

In their respective goodwill messages, Presidents of Ghana, Senegal, Niger, Benin Republic and Chad expressed satisfaction that the Dangote Refinery would serve the West African region and that their countries would be beneficiaries. They said the Dangote Petroleum Refinery is an African company for Africa by an African entrepreneur.
