[News] Nigerians react as Ikeja Electric says customers must link NIN to meters by Nov 1 to receive energy tokens

Nigerians on social media have reacted to a new directive from Ikeja Electric compelling customers to link their NIN to their meters in order to generate energy token.

The energy provider which caters for customers in the Ikeja district in Lagos state, announced this on its social media handles.

Nigerians have now reacted to the directive. While some agreed with the new directive, others wondered how this would work in houses where the landlord who owns the meter doesn’t reside with them. They argued that this will cause issues for people with multiple tenants sharing one meter.
