[News] Residents chase away firefighters after they “arrived late” to put off fire in Sagamu



Firefighters who responded to a fire incident in Sagamu, Ogun State, were reportedly chased away by locals.

 

The fire broke out ealier today, Oct 13, and people reached out to the Director of the Ogun State Fire Service for help.

 

As the fire truck was heading to the scene of the fire, they were attacked by and prevented from accessing the burning building.

 

An alleged witness has now claimed that the fire fighters were sent back because they didn’t arrive early and so much damage had been done by the time they came to quench the fire.

 

“They were upset the shop had burnt completely before they got there,” the person wrote.
