[News] Suspected assassins kill medical doctor, abduct his daughter in Kwara

Gunmen suspected to be assassins have killed a doctor identified as David Adefikayo, the medical director of Dafikayo Clinic in Kanbi community, Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.

 

It was gathered that the gunmen broke into the deceased residence around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023, and shot him dead in the presence of his wife and children.

 

It was learnt that the medical doctor’s plea to the gunmen to collect money and other items fell on deaf ears.

 

The assailants also abducted one of the daughters of the slain doctor, Christiana Adejoke Alabi, 23.

 

The incident had caused shock and grief in the community, as the late medical expert was a respected figure who contributed significantly to local healthcare.

 

Spokesperson of the state police command, Ejire Adeyemi-Adetoun, confirmed the incident.

 

“They killed the doctor and abducted his 23-year-old daughter during the incident,’” the PPRO stated.

 

“The DPO and other officers have stormed the bush in search of the criminals. I will give more details later,” Adeyemi-Adetoun added.
